Extensions Installation

For the Browser Redirector and Resource Blocking features to work browser extensions are required within each browser. By default, these extensions are installed into the appropriate browser using the notification service, however it is possible to disable this functionality within the console using the appropriate “Disable automatic installation of Extensions” setting.

If this setting is enabled, then the extensions will need to be installed independently of Browser Manager.

Browser Redirector/Resource Blocking Extensions Manual Installation

Only one of the Browser Redirector or Resource Blocking extensions is required. If you require just the Browser Redirector feature, then just add the Browser Redirector extension. If you require the Resource Blocking and the Browser Redirector features, then just include the Resource Blocking extension.

Currently the Resource Blocking feature is only available within the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Chromium browsers.

The required Google Chrome extension can be installed from the local file system using the following Google Chrome policy:

Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions: Enabled

Resource Blocking Value:

The required Microsoft Edge Chromium extension can be installed from the local file system using the following Microsoft Edge Chromium policy:

Control which extensions are installed silently: Enabled
