Resource Blocking
When accessing the internet, websites often embed adverts and other items within the web pages. These adverts require unnecessary resources which delay the web page from loading.
Browser Manager provides an Ad Blocking feature which ensures that adverts are not displayed on websites which would normally display advertisements to end users.
When the Resource Blocking feature is enabled, specific URL content is blocked from loading and the website rendering behavior is altered via modifying the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to remove unwanted content as web pages load.
Currently the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browsers are supported with the Resource Blocking feature. Mozilla Firefox support will be added when the browser supports the relevant prerequisites.
Extensions Required
The Resource Blocking feature requires the following extensions to be installed:
The Google Chrome extension needs to be installed for each user and is dynamically installed when the Resource Blocking feature is enabled. It can also be installed for users by configuring the appropriate Chrome browser policies.
The Microsoft Edge (Chromium) extension needs to be installed for each user and is dynamically installed when the Resource Blocking feature is enabled. It can also be installed for users by configuring the appropriate Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser policies.
