Setting Conditions Based on File Metadata

Environment Manager allows you to apply conditions based on file metadata in order to evaluate for revisions and other conditions.

To create a condition to evaluate file metadata:

  1. Select the Conditions ribbon.

  2. Select File & Folder > File Metadata.

  3. In the File Metadata dialog, select the File Metadata Condition tab.

    1. File: Navigate to the file for which you want to evaluate metadata.

The operator defaults to Exists for metadata entries that populate from the chosen file.

    2. Match case: Select this checkbox to match case on the metadata values only.
    3. Evaluate once per session: Select this checkbox to limit the condition to one evaluation of the metadata per session.
    4. Metadata: For each metadata entry, choose the operator for the condition evaluation. See Condition Variables for more information.

All listed entries must be fulfilled for the condition to pass.

    5. Select Add to add metadata entries for evaluation.

The operator defaults to Equal to when adding a new metadata entry.

    6. To remove a metadata entry, select the entry in the Metadata list, then select Remove. Select Remove All to remove all metadata entries.
    7. Use the column headings in the Metadata list to sort and filter metadata entries.

To use metadata conditions in an OR evaluation:

    1. Using the steps above, create the conditions you want to use.

    2. In the Policy Configuration navigation tree, create a node.

    3. Select the node, and then select the Actions tab.

    4. Add your conditions to the node, and use the Action column to establish the relationship you want for the conditions.
