2024.3 HF1 Release Notes

Release notes for versions prior to 2024.3 are available on the Environment Manager Community Page.

Hotfixes are cumulative and contain any previous hotfixes for this component.

If you are installing Environment Manager 2024.3 for the first time, see the 2024.3 Release Notes.

Enhancements and bug fixes

Using personalization with both AD-joined and Entra ID-joined users

Previously, if a user used both AD and Entra ID authentication methods, the personalized data was erroneously deleted. The personalization data for AD-joined and Entra ID-joined users is now stored separately. If a user uses both authentication methods, then the user will have two profiles stored in the database. These two profiles are separate and contain different data.

Change in EmUser.exe process

In the Environment Manager 2024.3, the EmUser.exe process erroneously stops executing when the network status changes. This network change prevents other session triggers from being executed, such as network connect or disconnect, process start or stop, and log off.

Hotfix deployment

Hotfixes are delivered as MSP files, commonly known as patch files. These files contain updates to the original application. Hotfixes can be viewed inside the Windows Control Panel.

Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates

Hotfix Installation

Hotfixes (MSPs) can be installed or deployed using the same technology and techniques that are used to install MSIs. Both Microsoft® System Center and Management Center 10.2 or later can deploy agent MSPs. If neither of these products are available for hotfix deployment and installation, then it is also possible to install the hotfix using MSIExec.

To install the hotfix run the following command:

msiexec.exe /p serverpatchfile.msp

System Restarts

The use of MSPs reduces the need for restarts but does not completely avoid them. If a file is in use during the install, the software prompts you to restart.

Rollback Procedure

To uninstall a hotfix, use the Windows Control Panel.

Control Panel> Programs > Programs and Features > Installed Updates

Alternatively, use Management Center 10.2 or later for agent rollback.
