Important upgrade information
This upgrade section contains functionality changes that have been introduced in Ivanti Environment Manager 2026.2.
When upgrading server and database infrastructure it is best to upgrade by no more than two major versions in each step. Upgrading three or four versions in one operation is not a method that has been tested and could produce unexpected behavior.
For further details relating to upgrades and compatibility please refer to the following Ivanti Community article.
New Features and Product Updates
To learn more about the latest features and improvements, refer to What's New in Environment Manager?.
Deprecation of default application utilities
Ivanti has deprecated SetBrowserforUser.exe, SetMailClient.exe, and SetPDFViewer.exe due to incompatibility with changes introduced in Windows 11 for managing default applications and file/protocol associations.
Windows 11 no longer supports programmatic modification of user defaults (such as HTTP/HTTPS, MAILTO, and .pdf), and these changes may be ignored or reverted by the operating system. They should no longer be used, as these utilities are deprecated.
Environment Manager agent support for Windows ARM-based processor
The Environment Manager (EM) Agent now extends its support to Windows ARM-based processor, in addition to Windows x64-based processor. While no specific Environment Manager Agent features have been designed exclusively for Windows ARM-based processor, the core functionality of the EM Agent remains consistent across both Windows x64-based processor and Windows ARM-based processor.
-
All the Deployment Agent (CCA) functionality is compatible with ARM-based processor.
MSIX support in Environment Manager
Environment Manager now supports MSIX applications, allowing administrators to install MSIX apps. Environment Manager automatically checks whether the app is already installed. If it is not, the app is installed seamlessly and can be launched by users after login. For more information, see Action Management.
Update to French Supported Languages
French is now included in the default Supported Languages set in the UWM console, ensuring legal compliance without requiring any additional configuration.
