Add/Change Extension Dialog Box

Besides .exe and .com files, which are always included, you can specify additional file types to be included in inventory scans.

Getting There

To specify any additional file types (besides .exe and .com files, which are always inventoried) that you want included in inventory scans:

  1. Type the extension to add. You don't need to type the preceding period.

    Also, specify whether the extension is runnable. Non-runnable files are files that cannot start an application and cannot be configured into license units.

  2. Click OK.
This dialog box is called Add Extension when you are adding a file extension to the list of types of files to collect, and Change Extension when you select an existing file extension in the Inventory Extensions dialog box and select Change.
