Agent Options Custom Tab
Use the Custom tab of the Agent Options dialog box to customize what information Cherwell Asset Management collects from machines during the inventory process. You can add or change WMI (Windows machines only) and user-defined (all platforms) properties.
Descriptions of each custom request are listed on the left, with the name of the property and its type (WMI or user-defined) listed on the right. Use the up and down arrows if you want to move requests higher or lower in the list; the list order is used when these values are displayed in reports.
Click New or Change to open dialog boxes where you can add or change requests. If you want to change a WMI property, you should be familiar with WMI class and WMI property syntax.
The WMIViewer utility, provided as a part of CAM Administrator installation, allows you to browse various WMI parameters. You may find this useful in determining which parameters you want to add to customize your inventory. To use it, open WMIViewer.html in Internet Explorer. WMIViewer.html is typically located in one of the following locations:
- For 64-bit systems: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cherwell Asset Management\WMIViewer
- For 32-bit systems: C:\Program Files\Cherwell Asset Management\WMIViewer
