Support Files
Support files are executable files that are separate from the main application executable file. Support files usually have .com or .exe extensions and are not licensed separately from the main application. Support files are identified by the Cherwell Software Identification Database (CSID) for metering purposes.
Support files are typically launched by the main executable file.
Notes:
- Support files are used by the metering agent and make it appear as though the application is still running even after the main executable is shut down. An application is recorded as launched when a main executable file starts, and is recorded as stopped only after the main executable file and all support files have stopped running. Support files are also included in the CSID to help reduce the number of files you have to manually configure.
