Agent Self-upgrade Feature

The agent self-upgrade feature lets you specify that machines automatically receive new versions of the CAM Agent software when available, without further intervention from an administrator.

This streamlines the agent update/upgrade process.

The information in this topic applies to Windows machines only.

Instead of installing the CAM Agent on machines and then repeating the process every time an update or upgrade is available, you can set up this feature and keep the files in the network share location up to date.  Every time you re-enable machines for self-upgrades, those machines are upgraded the next time they check in with their CAM Access Point (this check-in is also known as the "heartbeat"). Any machines that are powered off when a new version becomes available are self-upgraded at the second heartbeat, not immediately upon startup.
