Agent Status Messages

The following are the agent status messages that can appear in the Last install status column in the right pane of the Machines panel:

  • Agent connection properties update started: The process of updating the CAM Access Point or proxy server for the selected machine(s) has started. Updates may take up to 20 minutes to complete, and any additional operations you attempt for the selected machine(s) will be ignored during that time.
  • Agent connection properties update succeeded: The update is complete; the new CAM Access Point or proxy server assignment takes effect.
  • Enabled Agent self-upgrade: The selected machine(s) will upgrade to a new version of the CAM Agent when available.
  • Failed agent connection properties update: The attempt to update the CAM Access Point or proxy server assignment for the selected machine(s) failed, and the connection properties remain unchanged.
  • Failed agent self-upgrade: The self-upgrade process on the selected machine(s) failed and the earlier version of the CAM Agent remains on the machine(s).
  • Failed install: The CAM Agent was not installed on the selected machine(s) and no files were copied to it.
  • Failed install; OS not supported: The CAM Agent was not installed because the selected machine(s) are running an operating system that does not meet the requirements for running it.
  • Failed uninstall: The CAM Agent and its files were not successfully removed from the selected machine(s).
  • Failed upgrade: The attempt to upgrade the CAM Agent failed and the earlier version of it remains on the machine.
  • Install started: The process of installing the CAM Agent on the selected machine(s) has started. Installations may take up to 20 minutes to complete, and any additional operations you attempt for the selected machine(s) will be ignored during that time.
  • Install succeeded: The CAM Agent and its files were installed on the selected machine(s).
  • Not installed: The CAM Agent is not present on the selected machine(s).
  • Pending install/update: An installation, upgrade, or connection property update is pending. This operation may take up to 20 minutes to complete, and any additional operations you attempt for the selected machine(s) will be ignored during that time.
  • Pending uninstall: The uninstall process is pending; the message will change to started once the operation is underway.
  • Terminal Server Metered: The CAM Agent is not installed on the selected machine(s), but is connected to a machine that has the CAM Agent installed on it via Remote Desktop or some other Terminal Server software. These machines (the machines without the CAM Agent installed on them) will be displayed in the Not installed folder on the left side of the Machines panel, but you can still check out licenses for those machines and view activity.
  • Uninstall started: The process of uninstalling the CAM Agent from the selected machine(s) is underway. Uninstalls may take up to 20 minutes to complete, and any additional operations you attempt for the selected machine(s) will be ignored during that time.
  • Upgrade started: The process of upgrading the CAM Agent on the selected machine(s) has started. Upgrades may take up to 20 minutes to complete, and any additional operations you attempt for the selected machine(s) will be ignored during that time.
  • Upgrade succeeded: The CAM Agent upgrade on the selected machine(s) is complete.
  • Waiting for agent check-in: The CAM Agent files are installed on the selected machine(s); once the machine(s) check in with the CAM Access Point (which may take a few minutes), the status will change to one of the following, depending on the situation:  Install succeeded, Upgrade succeeded, or Agent connection properties update succeeded.

You can always press F5 or select Refresh from the View menu to refresh the display and see if the message has changed.
