Asset Groups

Asset groups are collections of assets (user-defined devices other than the machines that are found during discovery) that you define. When you first start using Cherwell Asset Management, only the predefined asset categories (by manufacturer, by asset type, and so on) exist in the Other Assets panel. You can use asset groups to help organize your assets in ways that make sense for your organization, and for use in filtering reports.

Any asset groups you create are listed in their own folders in the Other Assets panel.

The group is created as a top-level folder in the tree unless an existing asset group is selected. If an asset group is selected, the new group is created within that existing group.
