Error Sending Test Email
You can use the Test button in the Alerts tab of the Options dialog box to test if you've correctly set up alerts to be sent to a valid email address when an access point becomes unavailable or the work queue stops for any reason. There are times where the test may fail and you'll receive the following message:
Error sending test email. SMTP server is invalid.
To correct this problem, check your SMTP server settings in the Alerts tab of the Options dialog box; enter a valid SMTP server address.
