Troubleshooting: Machine Renaming Issues

When machines running the Microsoft SCCM client are renamed, the names are updated by the SCCM client's "Discovery Data Collection Cycle" action, which runs only once a week by default. In order to make sure that the machine names are updated during the import to Cherwell Asset Management, do one of the following:

• Initiate the "Discovery Data Collection Cycle" action on the SCCM client.
• Update the frequency that all clients run that action by adjusting this setting from SCCM: Site Database > Site Management > [site name] > Site Settings > Discovery Methods > Heartbeat method.
