About Formats

Use a Format to enforce how the following are displayed:

• Phone numbers: For example, use a Format to make numbers typed into a Field look a certain way:
  • US: (###) ###-####
  • International: +## (###) ####-####
  • Enforce an extension: (###) ###-#### x####
• IPv formats: For example IPv4 (numeric character) or IPv6 (any character) format.

CSM provides a variety of OOTB Stored Formats to help get you started. Use these OOTB Stored Formats as-is, edit them, or create new Formats using the Stored Format Manager. Custom Formats (not intended for reuse on other Fields) can also be created for use on a specific Field.
