Troubleshoot a Portal Site

Troubleshooting solutions for Portal issues.

Use the following table to troubleshoot Portal issues.

Problem Solution
Cannot access tools to create a Portal or site Check your functionality rights (CSM Administrator > Security > Edit security groups > User Security Group > Rights tab).
Customer cannot access a Portal or site Check the customer's functionality rights (CSM Administrator > Security > Edit security groups > Customer Security Group > Rights tab).
Customer cannot access data on a Portal or site Check the Customer Security Group's data rights(CSM Administrator > Security > Edit security groups > Customer Security Group > Business Objects tab).
Portal does not display correct form Verify the forms were designed in the Portal View, not in the Default View.
Query does not work Verify the query is set up correctly (not limited to a particular group). Check security; records might not show up if the customer does not have appropriate rights.
Automatic Actions not working Verify automatic Actions are run from the Portal view, not the Default View.
Customer can edit another customer's record Change the record ownership rights.
Windows Account not registered message Create login credentials for the customer.
