Demand management is the process an organization puts in place to internally collect new ideas, Projects, and needs during the creation of a Portfolio.
Demands are called ideas during the initial stages of Demand management. Ideas can be created by Demand managers, Project managers, executives, customers, and other CSM users. The Demand manager reviews the ideas and can put them into workflow for further detailed evaluation, approval, and consideration for inclusion in a Portfolio, or rejects them. During the detailed evaluation activities, the Demand is scored to help normalize a summary of the information for the approval and Portfolio review activities.
