Define Security
When you define Cherwell Knowledge-Centered Support Security, you assign Roles to CKCS stakeholders (example: Candidate, Coach, Contributor, Program Manager, Publisher, or Knowledge Domain Expert) and define Security Groups.

To define Security:
- In CSM Administrator, click the Security category.
- Click the Edit Roles task.
- In the Roles window menu bar, click Role Options and then select Configure Task Pane.
- Select the Use Search Widget radio button and then click the ellipses button.
- Open the Global folder.
- Right-click the Default Search Menu Widget and select Edit.
- In the Quick Search section, click Add>CKCS Article.
- In the Configure CKCS Article Search window, select the Search Attachments check box.
- Click OK and return to the Roles window.
- Repeat steps 3 through 9 for each Role and then close the Role window.
- In the Security task area, click the Edit Users task.
- Click the Users tab.
- Select the User that you want to set as a CKCS Coach.
- In the User Information section, scroll to CKCS Information.
- In the CKCS Role drop-down, select CKCS Coach.
- Click Save.
- Select a User that is a CKCS stakeholder (example: Candidate, Coach, Contributor, Program Manager, Publisher, or Knowledge Domain Expert).
- In the User Information section, scroll to CKCS Information.
- In the CKCS Role drop-down, select a Role.
- In the CKCS Coach drop-down, select the defined coach.
- Click Save.
- When all necessary stakeholders have assigned Roles, close the Users window.
- Click the Edit Security Groups task.
- In the Group drop-down, select Portal Customer.
- Click the Business Objects tab.
- In the Business Object drop-down, select CKCS Article.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- Select the Limit Records Based on Criteria checkbox.
- Click the Browse button.
- Click the first Comparison Clause drop-down and select CKCS Article fields>Internal Only.
- Click the second Comparison Clause drop-down and select Values>False.
- From the toolbar, click New>Comparison Clause.
- Click the first Comparison Clause drop-down and select CKCS Article fields>Status.
- Click the second Comparison Clause drop-down and select Value>Published.
- Click OK.
- In the File Attachments section, select View, Add, Edit, and Delete.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select New Field.
- In the General section, select View.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select Reference Count.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select Self-Service Count.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- Click Save.
- In the Group drop-down, select Portal Workgroup Manager.
- Click the Business Objects tab.
- In the Business Object drop-down, select CKCS Article.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- Select the Limit Records Based on Criteria checkbox.
- Click the Browse button.
- Click the first Comparison Clause drop-down and select CKCS Article fields>Internal Only.
- Click the second Comparison Clause drop-down and select Values>False.
- From the toolbar, click New>Comparison Clause.
- Click the first Comparison Clause drop-down and select CKCS Article fields>Status.
- Click the second Comparison Clause drop-down and select Value>Published.
- Click OK.
- In the File Attachments section, select View, Add, Edit, and Delete.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select New Field.
- In the General section, select View.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select Reference Count.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- In the CKCS Article Business Object list, select Self-Service Count.
- In the General section, select View and Edit.
- (Optional) Prevent Portal Workgroup Managers from editing CKCS Articles by clicking the Rights tab, selecting Security Features from the Category drop-down, clicking the In Portal, can request a license to edit records owned by other Users, and then deselecting the Allow checkbox.
- Click Save.
