Custom Dashboards - BETA

The Custom dashboards page allows you to create and modify dashboards. Once the data is published you can view and modify the data. You can create different types of charts and visualize the data on your dashboard. Users with the Creator role can create, modify, or delete the dashboards and charts. Users with the Viewer role can only view the dashboards. For details, see Roles.

To create a dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Custom Dashboards. Alternatively, click + icon on the top right to create a Dashboard.
  2. On the Dashboards tab, click +Dashboard to create a new dashboard.
  3. Enter the dashboard name and click Save.
  4. Click Draft to publish the dashboard. Once the dashboard is published it is available to all to view and modify.
    Optionally, click Published to revert the dashboard to a draft.
  5. Optionally, click icon to perform the following actions:
    • Refresh dashboard
    • Enter fullscreen
    • Save as - Overwrite the dashboard or save a copy of the dashboard. Select also copy (duplicate) charts to save and create a copy of the charts from the selected dashboard. Click Save.
    • Download - Generate a PDF or an image of the dashboard for downloading.

You are now ready to create and customize the charts.

To create a chart:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Custom Dashboards.
  2. On the Charts tab, click Charts.
  3. Click +Charts to create a new chart. Alternatively, you can create a chart using any one of the following methods:
    • From the Dashboards tab , go to Dashboard > +Dashboard > +Create A New Chart.
    • Click + icon on the top right of the Custom Dashboards page.
  4. Click Choose a dataset dropdown to select a dataset. For example, People, Devices, etc.
  5. From the Choose a chart type section, select a chart type.
  6. Click Create New Chart.
    In the window that opens, replace Add a name of the chart with the desired name of your chart.
  7. In the Charts Source section, you can view the list of the available Metrics and Columns. The metrics and columns options are different for each chart type.
  8. On the Data sub-tab configure your Query. Mandatory fields are marked with the icon.   
  9. Select Sort by Metric to sort selected metrics in descending order.
  10. On the CUSTOMIZE tab, you can set the chart options. You can customize the color scheme, orientation, type etc for a chart.
  11. Click Save. The ADD TO DASHBOARD window is displayed.
  12. Select ADD TO DASHBOARD to select a dashboard.
  13. Click Save.

Customization options differ for each chart type. Click theicon for details on Metrics and Columns.

To edit a dashboard:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Custom Dashboards.
  2. In the Dashboards tab, select the dashboard to modify.
  3. Click Edit Dashboard.
  4. From the CHARTS tab, drag and drop the chart(s) to the dashboard.
  5. From the LAYOUT ELEMENTS tab, drag and drop elements such as Tabs, Row, Column, Header, Text, and Divider to the dashboard to customize the layout.
    • To add more tabs, click + icon.
    • To delete an element, hover over it and click the icon that appears.

  6. Select the chart to resize its height and width.
  7. Click Save.
  8. After you have edited the dashboard, click Draft to publish.
