Power Management Settings

Ivanti Neurons Power Management lets an administrator manage and optimize the power consumption of the devices in their environment. Administrators can now configure the power management settings and assign them to a policy. Power management does not affect the performance of the devices. You can manage settings such as Turn-off hard disk, Sleep after, Hibernate after, and Allow wake timers from Power Management settings page.

Power Management is available on Windows devices only.

Add Power Settings

To add Power Management Settings.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Power Management.
The Power Management Settings page appears.

  2. Click +Add Power Setting to create a new setting.
The Power Management Settings page appears.

  3. Enter an appropriate Name for the setting.

  4. Select Active Power Plan to keep the device’s current power plan active and prevent users or processes from changing it outside of IT management. The system does not apply changes to the overall power plan settings, but you can use specific toggles to modify and apply individual power settings to the active plan.

  5. Select any desired setting from the following available options.

    • Turn off hard disk: Turns off the device after the specified time duration. Enter the Time in minutes for On Battery and Plugged in state.

    • Sleep after: Puts the device to sleep mode after the specified time duration. Enter the Time in minutes for On Battery and Plugged in state.

    • Hibernate after: Hibernates the device after the specified time duration. Enter the Time in minutes for On Battery and Plugged in state.

    • Turn off display: Set the number of minutes of inactivity before the device automatically turns off the display. This action helps you save power when the device is not in use.

    • Minimum processor state: Allows you to specify the minimum percentage of processor capacity to be used by the device, even when idle. Setting a lower value can help save power, but may affect performance.

    • Maximum processor state: Allows you to specify the maximum percentage of processor capacity the device can use, effectively limiting CPU usage to save power. Setting a lower value can help reduce energy consumption, but may impact performance-intensive tasks.

    • Allow wake timers (Optional: Based on availability of this feature on the device): Allows Windows to automatically wake the device from sleep per a scheduled task or program.
      Select Enabled, Disabled, or Never.

Note: In any settings, 0 specifies Never.

  6. Click Save and Close.
