Matching Outlook Contacts Automatically to GoldMine Contacts
By default, when a user selects a contact in Outlook, GoldMine Outlook Integration attempt to match the Outlook contact with a GoldMine contact. The contact matching is done by e-mail address (in order: email address #1, email address #2, and email address #3) until one or more matching contacts are found in GoldMine.
In the event that there are multiple matching contacts in GoldMine, GoldMine Outlook Integration displays a dialog in which the user can select the desired matching GoldMine contact to link to the Outlook contact. When there is only one match, this option causes the linking to automatically occur. When the option is not checked, the Outlook contacts are not linked to GoldMine contacts.
IMPORTANT: This option does not “link” the Outlook contact to the GoldMine contact (i.e., it does not save GoldMine data to the Outlook contact). Linking is achieved when the user clicks the Send data to GM button.
To Automatically Link Contacts
1. | In Outlook, open the GoldMine menu and select Setup GoldMine Plus. |
2. | Click the Options tab. |
3. | In the General section, select the Link contact when the address matches single GM contact option. |
4. | Click Close to apply the changes and close the dialog box. |
