Taskbar
The GoldMine Taskbar Contains frequently used GoldMine Menu commands and macros, links to documents and files, and quickly launches applications and web sites. can be docked with the Global Toolbar or dragged to create a floating Taskbar. The Taskbar contains two button: Getting Started and Customize.

TIP: Resizing a floating Taskbar, will cause the Taskbar buttons to move below each other to create a vertical stack.
Getting Started
When you click the Getting Started button on the Taskbar, a drop-down list opens with a list to access frequently used GoldMine menu commands and macros, to launch external applications and websites, and to display documents and files. Each icon in the taskbar represents a task item. There can be 50 task items in a task group and 20 task groups. GoldMine adds default items to this list, but you can customize the list for your own needs.
Customize
The Customize button on the Taskbar displays the Customize Taskbar dialog box. You can directly access the items on your Getting Started list by clicking the associated icon, or you can customize which items appear on this list.

Navigation Pane
The Navigation Pane offers additional viewing and navigation options, depending on the module selected
The pane contains the following sections:
■ Search Field. Type in search criteria and click Go. The Contact Search Center opens in the work area.
■ Title Bar. Displays the title for the currently selected module. Click the Title Bar to minimize or maximize the Navigation Pane.
■ View Window. Displays context-sensitive navigable history data, file browser, or calendar, depending on the module selected.
■ Navigation buttons. Each button displays the main window for its corresponding module. For example, clicking Contacts opens the Contacts list view.
■ Module menu and Navigation Pane options. This is a menu which opens when you click the Configure Button icon at the bottom of the Navigation Pane. You can select a GoldMine module from the list, or open the Navigation Pane options (see Setting the Navigation Pane Options).
Setting the Navigation Pane Options
1. | Click the Configure Buttons icon at the bottom of the Navigation Pane to display the menu. |
2. | Select Navigation Pane Options from the menu. |
3. | Using the check boxes, select the modules that appear in the Navigation Pane. |
4. | When finished, click OK to close the dialog box. |
Status Bar
The bottom line of the window is called the status bar and contains:
■ The name of the open Contact Set Database consisting of the contact information: Contact1, Contact2, ContSupp, ContHist, ContGrps, ContUdef, Conttlog, and sometimes Lookup. GoldMine allows you to have more than one contact set on the left side. In the graphic above, it is GoldMine Database A collection of data fields and related tables, storing information that facilitates access and retrieval.. However, the left side of the status bar also displays the help message for each toolbar button when the mouse is positioned on the button.
■ The shift-state of [CAPS LOCK] and [NUM LOCK].
■ The username for the logged in user.
■ The date and time on the local computer.
