Creating a Copy of a Dashboard

When you create a copy of the Dashboard, you create an exact duplicate of the currently active Dashboard. By default, the copy is placed under the same Category as the current Dashboard, but the phrase “Copy_from_” is prepended to the current Dashboard name.

To Create a Copy of a Dashboard

1. Click the Dashboards button on the Navigation Pane.
2. Expand the Available Dashboards tree to locate the desired Dashboard.
3. Select the Dashboard from the tree to view the Dashboard.
4. Right-click and select Copy from the context menu.

A message box displays with the following question:

Would you like to create new instances of data sources?

Yes creates new instances (which allows for editing of the data sources).

No uses the existing data source (which might not allow for editing of the data sources if they are based on those of a predefined Dashboard).

5. The screen switches to the Dashboard Designer.
6. Change the Name and Category properties for the Dashboard as desired.
7. Add, remove, or edit the Dashboard Parts as desired.
8. Click the Save button on the Dashboard toolbar to save your changes.
9. Click the View button to view the new Dashboard.

NOTE: You can also use the Copy button in the Dashboard Designer tool bar to create a copy of the current Dashboard.
