Creating a New Dashboard

The first step in creating a new Dashboard to display your external data is to establish the Dashboard’s basic properties. This included, the Category, Grid Size, Name, Timer interval, and Owner of the Dashboard.

NOTE: A user must be defined as a Master user to create a new Dashboard (see QuickStart Wizard).

To Create a New Dashboard

1.

Click the Dashboards Navigation button or choose Go To > Dashboards from the menu.

2.

Click the Design button on the Dashboard toolbar.

3.

Click the New button on the Dashboard toolbar.

4.

In the Properties panel (below the Dashboard Parts Palette) enter or select the following values:

○ Category: Sample

○ Grid Size: 8

○ Name: ExternalData

○ Timer: 0

○ Owner: (none)

5.

Click the Save button on the Dashboard toolbar.

6.

The new blank Dashboard canvas is now ready to add to the Dashboard Parts
