Viewing the Events and Actions Dialog Box

The Events and Actions Dialog box is only accessible from the Dashboard Design mode. To view the Events and Actions dialog box, add a Dashboard Part or select an existing part, then click the Events button on the Dashboard toolbar.

Add, Edit, and Delete actions and events for the selected Dashboard Part by using the buttons in the Events and Actions dialog box. A Dashboard Part can have multiple Actions assigned to it.

To Add an Event and Action

1. Select the Dashboard Part and then click the Events button on the Dashboard tool bar.
2. On the Events and Actions dialog box select the area affected: Main View or Dashboard Part.

NOTE: The Main View option automatically adds the Refresh entire dashboard ActionClosed The Automated Process action is the activity performed when triggered. to the List of Actions.

3. Select the EventClosed Step-by-step instructions contained in an Automated Process, or track, that GoldMine must evaluate to perform a specified series of activities. An event consists of a trigger and an action. An Automated Process consists of a sequence of one or more events. from the drop-down list.
4. Click the Add button to view the Action’s properties dialog box.
5. Select the type of Action:

Refresh entire dashboard updates all data on the Dashboard

Focus on a dashboard part changes focus to the specified Dashboard part

Refresh a dashboard part refreshed the data of the specified Dashboard part

Refresh a dashboard part based on user selection refreshed the data of the specified Dashboard part by data source, runtime parameter, and set values.

Set runtime parameter for a dashboard part without refreshing updates a Dashboard part based on data source, runtime parameter, and set values without refreshing the selected Dashboard part.

6. Make selections for each section from the drop-down lists for the selected Action type.

The properties that display vary depending on the type of Action selected. For more information, see Set Action Properties.

7. Click OK and add the Action to the List of Actions on the Events and Actions dialog box.

To add another Action, click the Add button again and repeat the process.

8. Click OK to save the action and close the dialog box.

NOTE: If you click Cancel, the Action is not saved nor added to the list of actions for the Dashboard Part.

 

To Edit an Event and Action

1. Select the Dashboard Part and then click the Events button on the Dashboard toolbar.
2. Select either the Main View or Dashboard Part as desired.
3. Select the Event from the drop-down list as desired.
4. Select an Action from the List of Actions and the click the Edit button.
5. Select the type of Action (see “To Add an Event and Action” above for Action details).
6. Make selections for each section from the drop-down lists for the selected Action type.

The properties that display after your Action type selection vary depending on the type of Action selected.

7. Click OK to return to the Events and Actions dialog box.

TIP: To add another Action, click the Add button and repeat the process.

8. Click OK to save the action/s and close the dialog box.

NOTE: If you click Cancel, the Action changes will not be saved.

 

To Delete an Action from an Event

1. Select the Dashboard Part and then click the Events button on the Dashboard toolbar.
2. Select an Action from the List of Actions and the click the Delete button.
3. Click OK to save the Action deletion and close the dialog box.

NOTE: If you click Cancel, the Action will not be deleted.

Set Action Properties
