Adding a Chart
The Chart for this Dashboard is used to give you a visual representation of the your data. For the example, the Chart will be a Bar chart representing Item and Count totals for Inventory.

To Add a Chart Dashboard Part

Click and drag the Chart Dashboard Part from the Palette to the upper-left corner on the canvas. |

Use the Arrow keys on the keyboard to move the Chart, or place the cursor on the part and then click and drag the part to refine the location. |
NOTE: You can use the canvas’ grid points to help align the various components on the Canvas.

Adjust the shape by placing the cursor over any of the resize points around the active Dashboard Part, then click and drag the resize point to the desired size. |
After adding the part, you must bind the data to the chart (see To Bind Data to the Chart).
To Bind Data to the Chart

Select the Chart on the Dashboard. |
|

|
In the Properties panel, scroll down to the Data section and click the ellipses (...) button next to Data Binding. |

3.
|
On the Data Binding dialog box, click the Details tab. |
|
4.
|
Make the following changes: |
○ Data source category: Manually typed
○ Data source: Accounting Demo
○ Data are summarized by: Product
○ Summarizing key legends: Product
○ Summarized values: Quantity

5.

Click OK to apply the changes. |

6.
|
Click View to preview the chart. |

7.

Click Design to return to the Dashboard Designer. |
