Group Log Entries

You can group multiple log entries into single report rows according to the values in one or more column log entries.

Prerequisites

You must select a template that displays query results in the Log Explorer window.

  1. Right-click the column header row to display the field names for the fields displayed in the Results panel.
    A right-mouse menu appears showing all the column names.
  2. Select Group by from the menu.
  3. Check the column you want to group your template query results by.

The log report results are grouped by the column you selected. Primary groups are denoted by a green circle shown in the column title when a column is used to group results, as illustrated by the following: You can repeat the above procedure to create subgroups. Secondary subgroups are denoted by a blue circle with the number 2 shown in the column title when a column is used to group results, as illustrated by the following:
