Upgrading Your Server

After preparing for the upgrade, you can begin upgrading your Ivanti Endpoint Security server to version 2025.2 (8.6.0.90).
You can use Endpoint Security Installation Manager to download new or update existing components and install them automatically.

Prerequisites:

  • To upgrade to version 2024.4 (8.6.0.70) and later, ensure that the agent is not installed on the IES server. If it is present, please uninstall it and reinstall the agent only after upgrading to the latest IES server version 2024.4 (8.6.0.70), as this is a major framework upgrade.

  • To upgrade to version 2024.4 (8.6.0.70) and later, ensure that either version 2023.1 (8.6.0.60) or version 2022.2 (8.6.0.50) is installed on the IES/EMSS server and agent, with AC lockdown enabled on endpoints. AC lockdown is mandatory if you are using the AC module.

  • Make a backup or snapshot of the current IES/EMSS server before upgrading to the latest version, IES/EMSS 2024.4 and later.

  • Your server is running an upgradable version. See Upgradable Server Versions.

  • Download the IES_Upgrade_build.zip folder to the IES server machine and extract its contents.

  • Install VC_redist2015-2022.x64.exe and VC_redist2015-2022.x86.exe from the extracted folder. Restart the IES server machine when prompted by the installer.

  • Complete each item in the Upgrade Preparations. Upgrade your old version of Endpoint Security to version 2025.2 (8.6.0.90) using Installation Manager.
