Visual Warning for Opened Records
The system displays a warning message at the top of the screen when you open the record, indicating that another user is viewing or editing the same record. You can use this feature for any business object.
Following are the steps to setup and use this feature:
Enable the global constant
1.Log in to Ivanti Neurons for ITSM with the Administrator user role.
2.Click Configure Application to go to the Configuration console.
3.Click Build > Global Constants to open the Global Constants window.
4.Set the EnableRecordLocking value to True to turn on the warning message.
5.Set the RecordLockingTimeOutValue value. For example, 30 (minutes).
6.Click Save.
Enable RecordLocking checkbox for a business object
1.From the Configuration Console, click Build > Business Objects > Incident to open the Incident Business Object window.
2.Click the Details tab.
3.Under the Special Purpose Fields section, select Enable RecordLocking.
4.Click Save.
Enable the permissions to use Record Locking for a role
1.From the Configuration Console, click Configure > Users and Permissions > Roles and Permissions to open the Roles and Permissions workspace.
2.Select Delete permission for ivnt_RecordLocking business object. For more information about object permissions, see Setting-up Roles.
3.Click Save.
• Once you're finished configuring all the above settings, refresh the browser for the feature to take effect.
• Locking of records and additional configurations are planned for later releases, hence the Global Constant is named as "Record Locking.
•Applicable to on-premise customers
This feature will use the Redis server if it is available in the Neurons for ITSM infrastructure. For On-Premise, if Redis server is not available, record locking will use the existing Neurons for ITSM Database.
