Creating a Master Budget Plan
The master budget plan encompasses all sub-budget plans. This workspace is only available to administrators by default, but can be assigned to other roles.
1.Log into the Service Desk console.
2.Open the Master Budget Plan workspace.
3.Click New ITFM Master Budget Plan.
4.On the Master Budget Plan page, the following tabs are displayed.
Details1.Enter information into the fields.
Field Description Name A unique name for the master budget, such as Master Budget FY2015. Budget Policy A general statement about the budget policy. Status Status of the budget plan. The default status is Draft and changes automatically as the plan goes through the approval workflow.
Owner Name of the owner. The default owner is the creator of the record. Start Date The start date of the budget plan, typically the first day of the fiscal year. End Date The end date of the budget plan, typically the last day of the fiscal year. Approval Due Date The latest date when the budget approval is due. Budget Buffer The buffer in the budget. Total Budget The sum total of the budget that is automatically calculated from the related sub-budget plans when you save the master budget. 2.Click Save.
Sub-Budget Plan1.Click New ITFM Sub-Budget Plan.
Field Description Name A unique name for the sub-budget, such as Sales and Marketing. Owner Name of the owner. The default owner is the creator of the record. Sub-Budget Type Type of sub-budget. Service Type of service to be budgeted, such as Mobile Communication.
This field is only displayed when the Service sub-budget type is selected.
Entity The organizational unit or entity to budget, such as Sales and Marketing.
This field is displayed when the Entity sub-budget type is selected.
Budget Buffer The buffer in the budget. Subtotal Subtotal that is automatically calculated. Budget Start Date Start date for the sub-budget plan. Budget End Date End date for the sub-budget plan.
If the sub-budget is created from the master budget, these dates are automatically entered by the system or you can enter the dates manually.
2.Click Save.
3.Enter details in the Creating an Activity History Item and Attachments tabs.
4.Click Save.
