Endpoint and SIP Registration Configuration

This section describes the configuration of Agent Dashboard endpoint and SIP registration settings. This section is only for softphone users. Disregard this section if you are using a SIP-enabled desktop phone.

The Agent Dashboard has two options for configuring the endpoint and SIP registration settings:

Automatic Configuration - Enables the Agent Dashboard to function immediately after you install it without you having to configure the endpoint and SIP registration settings. When an agent logs in, the Agent Dashboard automatically retrieves the user’s extension and SIP Soft Switch parameters (host and port) from the Contact Center server. The Agent Dashboard then registers the Agent Dashboard softphone with the SIP Soft Switch using these parameters. For the local SIP port, the Agent Dashboard selects the first available port beginning from 5060.

Manual Configuration - Manually configure the endpoint and SIP registration settings, including the extension, SIP Soft Switch host and port, local SIP port, SIP Soft Switch authentication username and password, etc.

The automatic configuration is the default option. The only time you must use the manual configuration is when you change the SIP Soft Switch username or password for the dial plan entry. Disregard this section if you use the automatic configuration.
