Configure Your Dial Plan

To enable calling through the Outbound Bridge voice application, two trunks will be created:

A voice server trunk will be created for use with the Outbound Bridge voice application, to connect to an external trunk. The voice server trunk will be configured based on the initial number dialed to select an outbound line. In the following procedure, 9 will be used to exemplify the number dialing the outside line, followed by the 10-digit PSTN destination number. As a result, any call which begins with 9 will be routed through the Outbound Bridge voice application, once the application has been configured in Applications Selector for this purpose.

An external trunk to which the voice application trunk will connect for this scenario where calls are being routed through the Outbound Bridge application, needs to be created. In this example, 8 will be used for this trunk identifier (agents will not be dialing 8; it will only be dialed from the Outbound Bridge voice application, per the settings that will be configured in Applications Selector).

Create the Voice Server Trunk for Use with the Outbound Bridge Application:

1.In the Management Portal, click System Configuration > SIP Soft Switch > Trunks/Gateways.

2.In the ID field, type a name for this trunk (for example, Bridge, since this trunk is for use with the Outbound Bridge voice application).

3.In the Prefix field, type 9 (9 is an example; use whatever number your agents dial to get an outside line).

4.Type a description or comment in the Memo field if desired, then click Add. The name of the new trunk appears as a link.

5.Click the trunk name to configure the trunk settings.

6.On the Number tab, in the Static IP Address field, type the domain name of the Ivanti Voice server.

7.In the Static SIP Port field, specify the voice server port of 5070 (or, if you changed the voice server port, specify that port).

8.Click the Update button.

9.Click the Prefix Manipulation tab.

Instead of configuring the Prefix Manipulation tab for this trunk, you can use interaction properties defined in the Outbound Bridge voice application (Strip, Prepend, Append) to achieve the same results when configuring the application in Applications Selector.

10.On the Prefix Manipulation tab, in the Destination Number section under the heading Prefix manipulation for calls placed by SIP Soft Switch to trunk, specify for calls beginning with 9, the 9 will be stripped from the number and replaced with an 8, thereby routing the call through the Outbound Bridge voice application, and then to the external trunk:

11.Type a 9 in the Prefix field.

12.Type a 1 in the Strip field.

13.Type an 8 in the Insert field.

14.Click the green + icon, then click Update.

Create the External Trunk:

1.On the Trunks/Gateways page, in the ID field, type a name for this trunk.

2.In the Prefix field, type 8.

3.Type a description or comment in the Memo field if desired, then click Add. The name of the new trunk appears as a link.

4.Click the trunk name to configure the trunk settings.

5.On the Number tab and the Prefix Manipulation tab, configure this trunk as you would any external trunk, remembering to click Update when your configuration settings are complete.
