Security Tab
To Configure the Security Tab Settings:
1.On the Management Portal menu window, click System Configuration > SIP Soft Switch > Trunks/Gateways.
2.On the Trunks/Gateways page, click the Trunks/Gateways ID link, then click the Security tab.
3.Class of Restrictions - Select the class of restrictions you want to apply to this trunk/gateway.
4.In the Incoming Registrations section:
•Trust this Gateway's IP Address - Select this check box if you want the SIP Soft Switch to accept calls from this gateway without requesting a username and password. Do not select this check box if you want the SIP Soft Switch to request the username and password you specify in the Username and Password fields below (click the Set button).
•When trusting IP address, verify the message comes from static SIP port - If not verified (this option is not selected), a message can originate on any port of the host configured in the Static IP Address field. If verified (this option is selected), a message must originate on the Static SIP Port of the host. Some SIP implementations, such as Cisco 7940/7960 hard phones, send messages from a port different than the one on which the phone listens. If the endpoint overrides the static IP and port by means of a SIP REGISTER request, these new values are used to validate the originator's IP and port.
•Username and Password - If you do not select the Trust this Gateway's IP Address check box, the SIP Soft Switch requires that you set the username and password this gateway will use to register with the SIP Soft Switch. Click the Set button to set the username and password in the Set Credentials dialog box. If you select the Trust this Gateway's IP Address check box for this gateway, the SIP Soft Switch ignores these fields.
5.In the Outgoing Registrations section:
•Enable Soft Switch to Register on this trunk/gateway - Select Enable to allow the SIP Soft Switch to register with a VoIP service provider on this trunk.
•Remote Registration Number - The number the SIP Soft Switch uses to register with the VoIP service provider on this trunk.
•Remote Registration Username - The username the SIP Soft Switch uses to register with the VoIP service provider on this trunk.
•Remote Registration Password - The password the SIP Soft Switch uses to register with the VoIP service provider on this trunk.
•Remote Registration Interval - The number of seconds the SIP Soft Switch waits before refreshing registration with the VoIP service provider on this trunk. Frequent registrations create additional load on the network, endpoints, and SIP Soft Switch, but might be necessary to keep the firewall tunnels open. The default values for the gateway and gateways located on the network without NAT/firewall servers are usually in the range of 1 to 24 hours (3600 to 86400 seconds). The values for devices behind a firewall might need to be set as low as 10 to 20 seconds.
•Replace ANI with Remote Registration Number - If outgoing registration is enabled, the SIP Soft Switch will place calls to this trunk on behalf of the Remote Registration Number instead of the actual originating party.
6.Click the Update button on the tab to apply your changes.
