Hardware and Network Requirements

System Requirements

These minimum requirements allow you to serve 100 concurrent users and 100 concurrent calls with 10 calls generated per second.

Ivanti Voice is not compatible with Kerio WinRoute firewall.

Ivanti Voice Server Host Computer

Hardware Requirements

  1. Computer Hardware Requirements:
    • Regardless of the number of agents using Ivanti Voice, the host CPU speed should be 3 GHz or greater.
      1. For 10 to 20 agents, use a 2-core processor
      2. For 20 to 50 agents, use a 4-core processor
      3. For 50 to 100 agents, use an 8-core processor
    • Minimum RAM: 2 GB.
    • Minimum HDD: 2 GB.

If you plan to record calls, use a separate RAID server with significantly more space.

  2. Display: 1024 x 768 or greater.

  3. Network Requirements:

    • 100‐MBit LAN card.
    • 100MBit switched LAN or vLAN with TCP/IP V4 network participation.
    • Ivanti Voice supports a single, active network connection; when multiple NICs exist, only one can be active.
      • The first listed MAC address will be used for license authentication regardless of whether it is active.
      • You can use teamed NICs as long as they present as a single active connection (single IP address).
      • The Ivanti Voice server can not be used as a router.
  4. SIP hardware requirements:

    • RFC‐3261 SIP/2.0 UDP‐compliant endpoints such as gateways and IP phones.
    • RFC‐2833 telephony signals compliance for DTMF recognition.

Software Requirements

  1. Operating System
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 (recommended).
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2012, R2.
  2. Server Software Requirements:
    • Windows Server 2012 or later (64-bit) with latest service packs installed.
    • Windows 2012 R2 Standard (64-bit) with latest Service Packs.
  3. Other Software Requirements:
    • Desktop Experience (and its required sub-features).

The Ivanti Voice Server installation wizard requires Desktop Experience and will pause installation until it is present.

    • TCP/IP V4 configuration (domain membership is recommended, not required).
    • Ivanti Voice requires a web browser and currently supports Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, and Microsoft Edge.
    • .NET 4.6, Windows Process Activation Service roles and required sub-features.

Ivanti Voice Client Computer Requirements:

Hardware Minimum Requirements:

  1. Processor: 1GHz Pentium III

  2. RAM: 2 GB RAM

  3. Hard drive: 1GB HDD

  4. Basic graphics hardware and access to the Internet.

Software Requirements:

  1. Windows 10 64-bit (recommended).

  2. TCP/IP V4 configuration.

  3. Ivanti Voice requires a web browser and currently supports Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, and Microsoft Edge.

SIP Hardware Requirements

Ensure all gateways and telephones are:

SIP-enabled

RFC-3261 SIP/2.0 UDP-compliant.

RFC-2833 telephony signals compliant (for DTMF recognition).

Ensure all SIP endpoints (including the voice server) can access the SIP Soft Switch for telephone number-to-IP address mapping.

Network Requirements and Recommendations

Use these instructions to prepare your network for Ivanti Voice.

  1. Assign a static IP address to the Ivanti Voice server target host computer.
  2. Configure these network settings in the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog box on the DNS tab of the network interface:
    • Specify the DNS suffix.
    • Configure at least one DNS server
    • Register this connection address (and the configured DNS suffix) with DNS.
    • Verify the settings:
      • Open the Windows command prompt
      • Type nslookup <name>, where <name> is the value of the Computer Name field. The command should successfully find the IP address.

  3. Use a 100Mbit LAN with switches. Do not use hubs.
  4. Install your gateways and other endpoints on the same IP network.

Do not install IP gateways between endpoints without implementing a Quality of Service technology on the egress ports of all gateways through with Ivanti Voice traffic will travel.

License File Requirement

Ivanti Neurons for ITSM provides a custom digital license file to each Ivanti Voice customer. License files contain information such as the modules licensed, customer name, customer ID, partner name, the name of the person who generated the license file, etc., and might contain expiration dates for licensed features.

Obtain a license and copy it to the Ivanti Voice server host computer. If you do not have a license file, Ivanti Voice runs only in demonstration mode, allowing the following limited functionality:

4 IVR ports

2 Unified Messaging ports

2 Auto Attendant ports

2 agents

1 supervisor

5 phone entries

1 Statistic Console connection

Historical reporting

Quality Management

1 Quality Management supervisor

1 Quality Management concurrent recording channel

You can add a license file into your configuration later or replace an existing one, if necessary. Refer to Server Administration for more information.
