License Upload and Check

The License Check option verifies the license (.lic) file. This option is available under the Upload/Check menu. The check option verifies the license file against the following validation criteria:

• License file extension. The valid extension is .lic.
• License file size. The size range is from 2 - 500 KB.
• License file format.
• Availability of host information from the license file.
• Ability to read network adapter information of the host.
• Presence of MAC address information in the license file.
• Matching the MAC address present in the license file with the actual MAC address of the host machine.

If the license file extension, format, and size are correct and there is no mismatch between the MAC address present in the license file and the MAC address of the host machine, you can use the Upload option to upload the license file.

When using a temporary license, you might see an error message: "License Check failed: unable to retrieve host information from the license file." This happens when the temporary license doesn't have the MAC address. You can still upload the license file if it has the correct extension, format, and size.
