Security Tab
To Configure the Security Tab Settings:
- On the Management Portal menu window, click System Configuration>SIP Soft Switch>Phones.
- On the Regular Phone page, click the extension link, then click the Security tab to configure or verify the following:
•Trust this Phone's IP Address - Select Yes if you want the SIP Soft Switch to accept calls from this phone without requesting a username and password. Select No if you want the SIP Soft Switch to request the username and password you specify in the Username and Password fields below.
•When trusting IP address, verify the message comes from static SIP port - If not verified, a message can originate on any port of the host configured in the Static IP Address field. If verified, a message must originate on the Static SIP Port of the host. Some SIP implementations, such as Cisco 7940/7960 hard phones, send messages from a port different than the one on which the phone listens. If the endpoint overrides the static IP and port by means of a SIP REGISTER request, these new values are used to validate the originator's IP and port.
•Username - The username the SIP Soft Switch requires to use this phone. If you set the Trust this Phone's IP Address radio button to Yes for this phone, the SIP Soft Switch ignores this field and does not request the username you specify. If you set the Trust this Phone's IP Address radio button to No for this phone, the SIP Soft Switch requires this field.
•Password - The password the SIP Soft Switch requires to use this phone. If you set the Trust this Phone's IP Address radio button to Yes for this endpoint, the SIP Soft Switch ignores this field and does not request the password you specify. If you set the Trust this Phone's IP Address radio button to No for this phone, the SIP Soft Switch requires this field.
•Click the Change button to change the Username and Password.
•Class of Restrictions - The class of restrictions you want to apply to this phone.
- Click the Update button on the tab to apply your changes.
