Distribution of DSM Infrastructure Components

According to the scenario, data volume or size of network environment you can install the DSM environment on a single computer or on a distributed environment using several computers.

Required Computers for Testing or Environments

For a testing environment it is sufficient to provide two computers (one server, one client) both communicating through a network connection. On the server computer you will install the Central Depot, the Central Management Point and the DSM Management Database (DSMDB) as well. On this computer please install a server operating system, a SQL server and prepare a share. On the other computer please install a client operating system. It will be used as client computer to install software packages later on.

Required Computers for an DSM Environments

For an DSM environment please install the DSM Infrastructure component on three or four computers communicating through a network connection.
