Desktop & Server Management 2022.2
What's New
DSM actions within Ivanti Neurons
There are two DSM actions that you can now use within Ivanti Neurons—Restart DSM Client and Assign DSM Package. Once you link your on-premise DSM installation with your Ivanti Neurons instance, you can directly assign DSM packages within Ivanti Neurons and restart those clients. We plan to implement more DSM actions during upcoming DSM releases.
Two DSM Remote Control enhancements
-
New notification for end users when a remote session takes place: During a DSM Remote Control session, the end user will see a dialog in the lower-right corner of the screen indicating an active session, with the option to cancel the session at any point.
-
Ability to connect without end-user interaction: You can now connect to an endpoint without confirmation by the end user. This option is particularly helpful when connecting to server computers where a user is logged in, but is not in front of the screen to confirm the connection request. Within the DSMC, the same option as for Heat Remote Control can be used.
PowerShell output written in DSM installer log files
Whenever a PowerShell "write" command is executed, DSM now adds the related output in the DSM installer log. The installer log will also include any possible error outputs. This allows for quicker troubleshooting and makes it easier to use the output during the installation process.
Azure Windows 10/11 Multi-Session support
The DSM client agent can be installed on Azure Windows 10/11 Multi-Session systems. The basic inventory will identify those clients with the correct OS details. For a full list of DSM system requirements, see System Requirements in the Getting Started help.
Enhanced Microsoft Intune actions within the DSMC
We enhanced the Microsoft Intune connector to provide major Microsoft Intune actions directly within the DSMC. This feature allows you to reduce context switching and execute your tasks in the most efficient way. When creating AutoInsert rules, you can also filter on computers that have the DSM client agent installed by Intune. For details, see Microsoft Intune Integration.
Confirmation window when resetting a variable
The Reset variable option now receives the same confirmation window as the Reset all variables option. This reduces any undesired actions and keeps your configuration secure.
eScript "RegSearchFolder" command enhancment
The eScript command RegSearchFolder now supports the usage of an asterisk (*). The command can also be used on a Reg-Multi_SZ value. For details, see Desktop & Server Management 2022.2 .
DSM eTray icon context menu opens on left mouse click
To streamline the end-user experience, the context menu of the eTray icon can be opened via a left mouse click. Users can also execute a "default action" by double-clicking the icon (by default, this opens the Software Shop, but the context menu is now configurable). For details, see Desktop & Server Management 2022.2 .
