Reinstalling the DSM Client

To troubleshoot problems on a managed computer, you may have to reinstall the DSM Client.

To be able to reinstall a computer's DSM Client you need the right to execute the task Manage users and computers.

How to reinstall the DSM Client on a computer:

  1. Select the respective computer in the Object window.
  2. Choose the task Troubleshooting > Reinstall the DSM Client.

    The relevant Management Point runs the reinstallation of the DSM Client as an infrastructure task in the background. You can view the status of infrastructure tasks in the DSMC's Infrastructure Tasks window.
    This task reinstalls the DSM Core Services and the DSM Runtime Service on the computer.
    Then the Client State Manager automatically takes over the task of completing the DSM Client.
