Offline Client - Installing Software Packages from a Storage Medium

In DSM, managed clients should be connected to the BLS via a network so that the individual client always gets new installation requests.

Administrators can use the Install software packages from storage medium option to manage and install software with DSM on computers that have been disconnected completely from the network with the help of an installation medium, such as a USB memory stick or a directory on a hard drive (or external hard drive). All of the required components and the control and mass data for the software installation are contained on the installation medium. This allows for an independent installation.

The client is synchronized later and the system writes the data of the basic inventory and the installation status back to the storage medium (re-import).Re-importing the data allows you to re-write the 'last' inventory data and installation status to the central database (DSMDB).
