Logging On Directly on a Terminal Server

Please be careful when you execute packages while logging on directly to the server console. If the installation of the package requires a restart, the computer will be restarted directly even if users are still connected to the WTS (i.e. the restart is not suppressed!)

When logging on interactively to a WTS, Ivanti DSM handles the WTS like a "body" server. This means:

  • Normally, the AutoInstaller does not start when you log on interactively to a Windows Terminal Server (to the console).
Reason: The setting Allow AutoInstall on Server Systems applies; the default value is No and thus the AutoInstaller will not start in this case.
  • If the installation of the package requires a reboot, the reboot is not suppressed.
  • You cannot execute only the computer portion of a package with the Software Shop.
