Configuring Discovery Integration

Several settings must be defined in the DSM infrastructure so that DSM can start communicating with HEAT Discovery. After defining these settings, you can access the HEAT Discovery web interface and the feature for importing inventory-based requests directly in the DSM Console. Please refer to the respective documentation for further details on the functionality of HEAT Discovery.

When you install Ivanti DSM for the first time, you can set up and configure Discovery Integration on the Central  Management Point. You can also configure Discovery Integration later as described below.

How to configure Management Point for the connection with HEAT Discovery:

1. Go to the Infrastructure view.
2. Unlock the configuration database.
3. Open the Properties of any Management Point.
4. Install the management application Discovery Integration.

   A wizard pops up where you can set up Discovery.

5. Enter the following information to connect to your HEAT Discovery Server:
   
   1. Basis URL of the HEAT Discovery Server
      The basis URL is the part of the URL that is shared by all child pages. This allows DSM to call individual detail pages of different computers by adding the respective path to the basis URL.
      Depending on where you have installed HEAT Discovery, the URL looks different.
   2. Tenant ID
      Tenant IDs help access HEAT Service Management (if the data for different environments is managed there).
      This ID is provided when you license HEAT Service Management; it is also required even if you are managing only a single tenant.
   3. HEAT SM Webservice User
      User name used to access the HEAT Service Management web service.
   4. HEAT SM Webservice Password
      User password used to access the HEAT Service Management web service.
      The Discovery Integration is installed. The Discovery Integration management application is used to exchange data with HEAT Discovery.
      Communication between the administrator workstation and the HEAT Discovery Installation must be guaranteed.

How to change the connection data with HEAT Discovery:

1. Go to the Infrastructure view.
2. Select the ORG object in the Navigation window.
3. Select the Expert mode and unlock the configuration database.
4. Select the Configuration tab in the Object window.

5. Open the Discovery section in the Settings.

   The existing entries are displayed. These are the same settings that are entered when installing Discovery Integration on the Management Point.
   As long as you are using Discovery 9, the setting Integration with... has the value Discovery 9. When you change to HEAT Discovery, this setting is no longer visible.

6. Specify the following settings:
   HEAT Discovery Basis URL
   HEAT SM Tenant ID
   HEAT SM Webservice User
   HEAT SM Webservice Password
