Adding Objects (XML)

Add the object in the required context with the appropriate properties. Use an existing object as a template.

Specifying the Object ID

Specifying the object ID is optional.

• If you specify an object ID, the DSMC uses this during import if possible.
• If you do not specify an object ID, the DSMC assigns an object ID automatically during import.

Specifying the Object Properties

It is essential to specify certain properties in the XML file to ensure that an object is indeed created when the XML file is imported.

• Site: Site properties (SiteProperties)
• Repository: Repository properties (DatabaseProperties)

The other object properties do not have to be specified when creating the object. The DSMC uses default values as much as possible or adopts the values from the parent object. Otherwise the entry field remains empty.
