Setting up Distribution

You define a distribution job for a package by assigning a time frame to a distribution target (within which the distribution is allowed).

The procedure for configuring the distribution of a package is as follows:

1. Select the desired package in the Software Library.
2. Choose the Distribution Setup task.
3. Select Immediately (next polling interval) distribute the package files… to set up the distribution with default settings.

   The package will be distributed earliest possible to all depots that are in the context of the repository. The distribution continues to run until all files have been successfully distributed.
   To restrict the distribution you can chose the option Explicitly define distribution targets and timeframe....

   The distribution job is always executed by the Distribution Service that is responsible for distribution to the corresponding object. There is no definable association between distribution jobs and Distribution Services.
