Defining Execution Properties

Execution properties in the Packaging Workbench define and allow various behaviors of a package.

Specifically, the following are specified:

  • whether the installation of this package is allowed to trigger a reboot of the computer
  • whether the installation has to take place in a particular context (user logged on or not logged on)
  • whether and where the package installation should trigger a notification
  • whether the package itself may be assigned or can only be used as the component of a Software Set
  • whether a specific installation order has to be maintained for the package when completely re-installing a computer
  • whether the package may be automatically uninstalled when an assignment is deleted

The procedure for defining execution properties for a package is as follows:

  1. Open the Software Execution Properties dialog with the aid of the relevant task in the Packaging Workbench of the package whose execution properties you wish to specify.
  2. Select the desired settings in the individual tabs of the dialog.
  3. Close the dialog.
