Specifying the Package Platform
The package platform specifies the operating system versions on which a particular package can be executed. If the package platform and a managed computer's operating system versions do not agree, no policy instance is created and thus, the package is not executed.
Define the package platform by using the Specify platforms task for:
- opened package in the Packaging Workbench
- selected package in the Software Library
Usually you will specify several platforms for a package to make it executable on more than one operating system.
If you analyze a package using the NetInstall Spy, your
operating system is automatically entered as the platform.
