- Analyze the current status of your computer via the task Record Installation (see: Step 1: Analyze the Initial Status (Spy) ).
- Connect
the Plug & Play device(s) whose installation you wish to analyze to
your computer.
Execute the installation of the Plug & Play device. Pay attention to the manufacturer’s instructions. Check that the device is working properly.
If you are prompted to restart your computer after installation, do so. - Now
analyze the changes via the task Record Installation
(see: Step 3: Analyze changes (Spy)
).
On the first page of the Wizard, enable the option: Analyze
the installation of Plug & Play devices.
The DSMC checks whether package already exists for installing one of the detected devices. If this is the case, a dialog which indicates the possible conflict appears.
The Plug & Play devices found are automatically permitted by default.
