Integrating an Existing Virtual Application

This is how you package an existing virtual application:

1. In the Object window click on the Software Factory tab.
2. Click on Virtual Application.
3. Enter a name for the virtual application and the package it is to hold.
4. Enter the ThinApp version that is to be used. This is version 4.0 by default.
5. In the next step of the dialog select Integrate Existing Virtual Application.
6. Enter the path on which the virtual application is to be installed on the client computers.
7. Then select the virtual application you wish to package.

   Now you can distribute the integrated virtual application to installation targets like a normal software package.

   You cannot subsequently modify an existing and integrated virtual application through DSMC. For integration only the .exe file is packaged with the virtual application. The source files created by ThinApp are not accessible to you in DSMC. To modify the virtual application, you must adapt and newly generate it outside of DSMC with ThinApp tools. Then you can package and distribute the new version of the virtual application to installation targets by the method above.
