Installing the Update (DVD/Service Pack/HF Bundle)

Whether you install the update from a DVD, a Service Pack or a Hotfix Bundle, the system copies the new sources to the \UpdateSources directory on the ORG Master Share.

If the complete update is installed from a DVD, the \UpdateSources directory is deleted and recreated from the DVD.

If an update is installed from a Service Pack or a HotFix Bundle, only the changed files are copied to the \UpdateSources directory.

The ORG Master Share is not changed at this time.

Packaging the Update

The new sources residing in the \UpdateSources directory are packaged before being distributed to all depots. After packaging, the Distribution Service distributes the packages. The Update Manager creates four update packages from the sources which are stored in the $SysDb$\Packages directory.
