For the link you want to create, you can specify the following properties:

  • Description
Describes the link; the text will appear below the link.
  • Command line
Displays the location and name (including the file name extension and required parameters) of the program file.
  • Working directory
Specifies the path to the program's working directory.
  • Icon
Displays the program icon. If a program icon already exists for the program file specified in the Command line text box, it will be displayed in the dialog box.

The name of the symbol file must not contain a comma.

  • Create at
Specifies the location where you want to create the link. The actual paths are read from the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders.
  • Folder
Specifies the name of the folder where you want to create the link. If this specific folder does not yet exist, it will be created.

Options

Computer-related link ("All Users")
Guarantees that the link is available to all users of a computer (e.g. by storing in the All Users profile).

Run minimized specifies how you want the window to display the item when you open the link: In a standard window, on a full screen (maximized), or as a button on the task bar (minimized).

Manage user portion ensures that the software's computer portion is installed computer-related together with this link. The user portion will be post-installed as soon as the user clicks this link the first time.

We recommend using the Manage user portion option for Terminal Servers for the following reason: You can completely omit an automatic start of the AutoInstaller and the DSM Agent does not have to be started either per Terminal Session.
