DSM Web Console
The Web Console contains the most important information on all computers and users in the DSM environment. Its web interface allows you to access the essential tasks of Lifecycle Management. With the Web Console, Helpdesk employees, software managers and system administrators can react quickly and change software or operating systems for individual computers and their users.
After launching the Web Console, you can see the usual organization tree from the DSM Console immediately. Select the domain, OU or group in Organization and then the computer or user in Computers and Users, if required. The Details show you the available information for the selected object.
You can use a special filter (Filter by Name) in the list views which helps you find the objects and information you are looking for in large network environments in a very short time.
You can easily drag and drop the displayed objects to another domain, OU or static group in Organization. In Computers and Users, you can select several objects at a time. Moving dynamic groups is limited, however, as compared to the actions in the DSM Console: All of the actions that require changing the LDAP filter are excluded because you cannot change LDAP filters in the DSM Web.
In the task bar object-related tasks (e.g. Create new object, Remove from group and Delete) as well as common tasks (Start Remote connection (Internet), Export object list) are available.
If you don't want to select the objects in the organization tree, you can use the search box at the top right of the console to find computers and users.
Enter a computer name (default selection) in this search box with at least three characters and a list of matching computers is displayed.
If you want to search for a computer by other properties than its name or if you want to search for a user object from the DSMDB, the drop-down list on the left of the search box provides more options.
Search for Object

1.Select the search method you want to apply with the arrow next to the search box. The default search method is the computer name. If you want to use a different search method, select another one.
2.Enter the text in the search box. By default, the system searches the text you entered only at the beginning of field contents. You may use * as wildcard within the search text to change this.
When you enter the search text, the search is continuously updated. DSM Web searches in all containers that are available.
You can see a list of the objects the system found below the search box with the Name, ID, Container and the field contents where the match was found.
3.Select the respective object or change your search method. The object properties are displayed. The navigation tree is updated.
Create New Object

1.Open Organization to select the domain and OU where you want to create an object.
2.Select the Create object task.
3.First, specify the type of object you want to create and then the available properties for the specific type of object in the New Object dialog. Enter a filter in Filter by name to find the property you are looking for quickly.
In DSM Web you may only create new static groups . Dynamic groups that already exist are displayed, too. Existing dynamic groups can be easily detected because they have Properties of the Dynamic Group and also a specific icon.
4.Click OK, to create the object.
The object is stored and displayed in DSM Web below the OU or domain you selected.
Delete object

1.Please select the domain and OU in the organization tree where you want to delete an object.
2.Select the task Delete
3.Confirm the security message. The object will be now be deleted from the DSM database.
Overview (computers)
For a marked computer the Details>Overview tab contains the following information:
•<Computer name>: Shows the most important information about the computer. The chart shows the number and status of the software packages installed on this computer.
•Failed activities: Issues error messages and operational errors on this computer.
•Recent activities: Shows the software installations that have been executed on this computer during the last 2 weeks.
•Pending activities: Shows software installations on this computer that are pending.
Tasks
Specifically for the overview of the computer a task bar is displayed with the following tasks:
•Activities from... to: Defines the time period for which the activities are displayed.
•Reinstall computer: Reinstalls all of the assigned software packages on this computer. If an operating system installation is pending, it will be executed as well.

•Start Remote connection (local): Starts a remote connection in the local network with the displayed computer via HEAT Cloud Remote. Please note that HEAT Cloud Remote must be licensed in the system.
A remote connection via the local network is only possible for managed computers. In order to establish a remote connection to a computer via the internet, a respective common task is available in the menu bar.
In the context menu of a single activity, displayed in one of the activities windows, the following task is available:
•Reinstall software: Reinstalls the respective software package on this computer.
•Install immediately (for failed and pending activities only): Installs the respective software on this computer immediately.
For users, the Overview tab is not available.
Properties (computers and users)
In this tab the properties of a computer or a user are visible. Initially the DSM Web displays the basic properties of the selected object.
Greyed properties are not editable. All dark highlighted properties are editable.
Tasks
For the properties of the computer or user a special task bar is displayed with the following tasks:

Tasks
Manage the membership of a computer in static groups. Select a static group within a list and copy the assignment with >> or << to the other side of the list. Use the tasks Apply changes or Dismiss changes to confirm the action. The system changes the database accordingly in the background.

When using Discovery this page shows all the information about a computer. The information is identical with the Computer details in the context of a computer as it is displayed in the DSMC.
